Nick Hughes, LMT & Certified Yoga Instructor

Nick Hughes has worked at the Lake Tahoe Wellness Center since 2003. He became interested in the healing arts while attending the University of California, Santa Cruz. In addition to a BA in Psychology, he also earned a certificate in General Holistic Health Studies.

Shortly after graduating UCSC, Nick studied massage at the Esalen Institute located in Big Sur, California. Upon completion of the Esalen massage certification program in 2001, Nick began to practice massage professionally. He has continued his education by learning a variety of healing modalities, earning certification in Thai massage, Shiatsu, Reiki, and Watsu.

In addition to being a licensed massage therapist, Nick is also a substitute teacher and a sports and recreation specialist with the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe. An avid juggler and fire dancer, Nick has been practicing poi spinning with the local elementary school children for over three years. Nick began teaching poi spinning/fire dancing at the Lake Tahoe Wellness Center in the summer of 2006. He is inspired to teach his art form and share this passion for poi spinning with the community.
